Around 25 firefighters battled a large fire in Kings Norton on Tuesday, August 11, which damaged a home and surrounding grassland. The blaze broke out at Gildas Avenue, prompting a significant response from West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS).
Five Crews Deployed to Gildas Avenue
WMFS sent five crews to the scene, according to a spokesperson who said: "We have five crews in attendance at Gildas Avenue, Kings Norton, Birmingham, where they have responded to a large fire." Photographs taken by BirminghamLive show the extent of the damage, with parts of a house's white exterior wall appearing charred by the flames.
The fire also spread to the garden, where the patio was blackened and the fence was no longer visible. Debris, including pots and pans, lay scattered on the garden floor, and the damage extended to a nearby area of trees.
No Injuries Reported So Far
It is not yet clear if there were any injuries. WMFS has been approached for further comment, but no additional details have been released at this time.

This incident is the latest in a series of fires this week, with blazes also reported in the Black Country and neighbouring Staffordshire. The cause of the Kings Norton fire remains under investigation, and residents are advised to stay vigilant as the situation develops.
