A 60-year-old man has been arrested after police officers noticed him 'stumbling' as he left a pub in the Midlands. The man admitted to consuming 'a pint' before getting behind the wheel, but a roadside breath test revealed a reading of 110 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath—more than three times the legal limit of 35.

Warwick Police officers on routine patrol observed the driver exiting a public house and staggering towards his van. They stopped the vehicle and requested a breath test after the driver confessed to having an alcoholic drink. The roadside reading of 110 led to his immediate arrest.
In custody, the man provided a lower reading of 99 micrograms. He will now face charges in court and is likely to receive a lengthy driving ban.

In a social media post, Warwick Police stated: 'Officers have been on routine patrol and have noticed the driver of this van leave a public house and stumble towards it. The vehicle was stopped and a road side breath test was requested after the driver, a 60 year old male admitted to having a pint before getting behind the wheel. The driver provided a road side reading of 110 so was subsequently arrested as the legal limit is 35. In custody the driver provided a lower reading of 99 and will be charged to court to explain his actions and will likely receive a lengthy driving ban.'
Authorities urge motorists to never drink and drive, emphasising the serious consequences of such actions.
