Police Investigation Leads to Arrest Following Violent Assaults
West Midlands Police have made a significant breakthrough in their investigation into two violent assaults against women in Birmingham. A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying out both attacks, which involved the victims being kicked.
Details of the Two Incidents
The first assault occurred on Moseley Road at approximately 5:15pm on October 26. A woman was violently kicked in her back during this unprovoked attack.
A second, similar incident took place just over a week later. On November 6 at around 7:30pm, another woman was assaulted and kicked while she was walking along Stratford Road.
Ongoing Enquiries and Public Appeal
The suspect has been conditionally bailed while police enquiries continue. Birmingham Inspector Neil Kirkpatrick commended the public for their support following a social media appeal, which contributed to the arrest.
Inspector Kirkpatrick stated: "Our investigation is still ongoing, and I would ask anyone who has any information or was in the area at the times of these two incidents to come forward and speak to us." He confirmed that officers will be on patrol in the areas and encouraged people to approach them with any information.
Anyone with details related to these assaults is urged to contact West Midlands Police by quoting incident number 5265 for November 6. Information can also be shared anonymously with Crimestoppers.
