A man has been arrested following reports of a person making threats with a knife in Great Barr. Officers from West Midlands Police were dispatched to an address in the Pheasey area shortly after 7pm on Monday, 27 April.

A 56-year-old man was detained on suspicion of threatening a person with a knife in a public place and possession of a knife. He was taken into custody and remains there as investigations continue.

Walsall Police shared details of the incident on social media, stating: 'We’ve arrested a man after responding to reports of a man making threats while armed with a knife in Great Barr. We were called to an address in Pheasey shortly after 7pm last night. Officers arrested a 56-year-old man on suspicion of threatening a person with a knife in a public place and possession of a knife. He was taken into custody where he remains as our enquiries continue.'
