A man has been charged after firearms were seized during a disorder on a Birmingham street. West Midlands Police responded to reports of an assault and disorder between two men on Nechells Park Road, at the junction with Holburn Hill, at 7:25 PM on Sunday, June 7.
Upon arrival, officers detained one individual and subsequently discovered two suspected firearms. The weapons were later determined to be imitation firearms.
Hasan Mashkoor, 34, of Birmingham, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, and possession of a prohibited weapon. He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, June 9, where he was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on July 9.
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "A man has been charged following a disorder on a Birmingham street and two firearms being seized. Hasan Mashkoor, of Birmingham, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possess ammunition for a firearm without a certificate, and possession of a prohibited weapon. We were called to Nechells Park Road on Sunday night at 7:25 PM to reports of an assault and disorder between two men. After detaining a man, two suspected firearms were found. The firearms were later deemed to be imitation."
