A man is due in court after parcels were allegedly taken from a home in Birmingham. Arran Armit, 47, of Wyatt Road, Sutton Coldfield, has been charged with burglary and is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 22.
The charge follows an incident on Thursday, August 20, when a resident on Walmley Road in Sutton Coldfield spotted a man trying to steal parcels from an address at around 6pm. The resident informed West Midlands Police and managed to keep the alleged culprit in sight until officers arrived.
Quick response leads to arrest
West Midlands Police said they responded quickly to the reported burglary after being called by the resident. Officers arrested a man at the scene, and Neighbourhood Crime Officers subsequently took over the investigation, reviewing CCTV and speaking to the victim.
Following enquiries, Arran Armit was charged with burglary. The force said in a statement: "A man’s been arrested and charged after we responded quickly to a reported burglary in Sutton Coldfield."

West Midlands Police acknowledged the impact parcel thefts can have on residents. The statement added: "We understand the negative impact parcel thefts have on people, and we have a range of tips on our website to help you keep deliveries safe."
The case is now set to proceed at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 22, where Armit will face the burglary charge.
