Police say their Major Crime Unit launched immediate inquiries after the stabbing. Detectives believe it was a 'targeted attack' involving individuals known to each other.

The victim's family is being supported by specialist officers and has appealed for privacy as they come to terms with their loss. In line with their wishes, police urge the public not to share photos or footage linked to the incident to avoid causing further distress and potentially prejudicing legal proceedings.

Three other men arrested as part of the investigation have been released on bail with conditions.

Detective Inspector Matt Marston, leading the investigation, said: 'This is a significant step forward in our investigation, which is continuing. Our thoughts remain with the victim's family – they are being kept updated and we continue to offer them our full support. It's vital that anyone who does have footage or information shares it with us directly.'
