Man in Hospital After Suspected Acid Attack Near McDonald's

A man has been taken to hospital following a suspected acid attack outside a McDonald's restaurant in Ashton town centre. The incident occurred on Warrington Street at around 4pm on Friday, May 8, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Incident Details

Greater Manchester Police reported that two men were arrested on suspicion of assault after a hazmat incident was declared. The alleged assault is believed to involve a corrosive substance. A police cordon remains in place, with Warrington Street closed from Bow Street.

Victim and Suspects

The victim, a man in his 30s, has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing. Two men, aged in their 40s and 50s, have been arrested and remain in custody.
