Two men have been arrested, one on suspicion of attempted murder, following a shooting near a children's play area in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Gorsymead Grove in Northfield shortly before 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 28.
The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained gunshot wounds to his leg and was rushed to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to West Midlands Police.
Arrests Made in Nottingham
Officers arrested two men yesterday at an address in Nottingham. A 21-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder, while a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody for questioning.
Police were called to the scene after receiving reports of a gun being fired. Armed officers attended and found the injured man. He was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
Police Appeal for Information
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We have arrested two people in connection with a shooting in Northfield. Armed officers were called to Gorsymead Grove after reports of a gun being fired just before 4:30 PM on Thursday. Officers found one man with gunshot wounds to the leg and he was taken to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening."
The spokesperson added: "We are in the process of speaking to those who saw what happened, and we are urging anyone with footage to please get in touch with us. Detectives would especially like to hear from anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage from around the area."
Local officers have increased patrols in Northfield to reassure the community. Dedicated neighbourhood officers are available to listen to concerns.
