Two attackers are being sought by Nottinghamshire Police after a 32-year-old man was stabbed and slashed near Sandy Banks Nature Reserve in the north of the city. The victim was discovered by officers on routine patrol, suffering from multiple wounds to his chest, back, and legs.
Attack unfolds on Bembridge Drive
The incident occurred at approximately 7.08pm on Friday 7 August, as the man was walking along Bembridge Drive. According to police, two men got out of a car and launched a vicious assault on him. The attack continued onto the steps leading into the nature reserve, where officers later found the victim.
Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that the victim was found on Oxclose Lane, outside the Golden Phoenix, by officers who were conducting a standard patrol. The discovery was made shortly after the assault, and the officers immediately summoned paramedics to the scene.
Victim hospitalised with serious injuries
The man was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment. Authorities have stated that his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering, despite the severity of the wounds. The exact nature of the injuries has not been disclosed, but they include slash and stab wounds to the chest, back, and legs.
Detective Inspector Stuart Barson, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are actively investigating this attack and officers are in the area conducting house to house inquiries. The victim sustained multiple stab and slash wound injuries and we need to find those responsible for this."
Police appeal for witnesses
Officers are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information about the suspects to come forward. The two attackers are described as having been in a car before the assault, but no further description has been released at this stage.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Bembridge Drive or Sandy Banks Nature Reserve at the time of the incident. House-to-house inquiries are being carried out, and officers are reviewing any available CCTV footage from the vicinity.
The nature reserve is a popular spot for walkers and families, and the attack has shocked the local community. Police have increased patrols in the area to reassure residents and to gather further evidence.
