Man Stabbed in Birmingham New Build Housing Estate

A man has been seriously injured after being stabbed in Birmingham's Acocks Green area, with a pocket park sealed off as police investigate.

West Midlands Police and paramedics were called to Vine Lane at approximately 3:30 AM on Tuesday, June 2, where they discovered the victim. He received treatment at the scene before being transported to hospital.

A small pocket park situated within a modern housing estate was cordoned off while investigations were carried out. The park was reopened by Tuesday afternoon.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a man with stab injuries in Vine Lane, Acocks Green, at around 3:30 AM today. Officers attended and found a man being treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening."

"Investigations are underway, with door-to-door enquiries being carried out and CCTV being retrieved and reviewed in the area. Anyone with information can contact us on 101 or via Live Chat on our website quoting log 371 of 2 June."

West Midlands Ambulance Service also commented: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Vine Lane in Acocks Green at 3:30 AM and sent an ambulance, a paramedic officer, and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man with serious injuries who, following treatment on scene, was conveyed to hospital."
