A manhunt has been launched for a convict who has fled a Midlands prison. Andrew Cox left HMP Sudbury, an open prison in Derbyshire, on Monday, May 11, at around 10.10pm.
The 41-year-old was serving an eight-year prison sentence for conspiracy to supply class A drugs. Derbyshire Constabulary has appealed for the public's help in locating him.
Police described Cox as white, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, of thin build, with brown hair and a tattoo on his right hand. He has connections to Mansfield, Hucknall, Watnall, and Kirkby in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, as well as Newton on Trent in Lincolnshire.
Authorities have urged the public not to approach Cox if they see him, but to contact Derbyshire Constabulary immediately via their website, Facebook page, or by calling 101, quoting reference 1285 of May 11. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their website.
