Men Released on Bail as Police Continue Investigation into Fatal Hockley Crash
Two men arrested in connection with a tragic road collision that resulted in the death of a nine-year-old girl have been released on bail. West Midlands Police confirmed the update as their investigation into the incident continues.
Details of the Fatal Incident
The fatal crash occurred on Thursday night, April 2, on Icknield Street in the Hockley area of Birmingham. The young victim was a passenger in one of the two vehicles involved in the collision. A woman and two other children who were also in the car with the girl were taken to hospital following the incident.
The two men, who were in a BMW at the time of the crash, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs. In a statement issued on Monday, April 6, a police spokesman said: "The two arrested have been bailed whilst further enquiries are conducted."

Flowers have been left at the scene of the crash as the community mourns the loss. A bouquet with a note attached was tied to railings near the site. The note expressed heartfelt sympathy, reading: "Heartfelt sympathy. They are at peace. We can never prepare for the grief of losing someone so special."
The identity of the young girl has not been released publicly at this time, with officers providing support to her grieving family. West Midlands Police are actively seeking witnesses to the collision or anyone with relevant footage from doorbell cameras or dashcams.
