Officers from West Midlands Police's Traffic unit observed the two males on the stolen moped. In an attempt to evade capture, the pair dismounted the vehicle and fled on foot. A foot chase ensued, leading to their detention by police.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated: "ANPR Interceptors saw 2 males in balaclavas riding a stolen moped in Acocks Green suspected of being linked to other vehicle thefts. It was pursued with the help of @FirearmsWMP & the #RoadCrimeTeam before the males decamped & were both arrested following a foot chase."
