A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a collision on Halesowen Road in Old Hill, Sandwell, on Sunday evening. Emergency services responded to the incident at around 9pm on July 5.
Emergency Response and Medical Care
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched an ambulance, a paramedic officer, and a MERIT trauma doctor along with a critical care paramedic to the scene. A spokeswoman for the service stated: “Upon arrival, ambulance staff found one patient, a man who was the motorcyclist who was assessed and had sustained life-threatening injuries.” The patient received advanced trauma care at the scene before being transported to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, with medics accompanying him for continued treatment en route.
Police Cordon and Investigation
Police cordoned off a section of Halesowen Road following the crash. A photograph shared on social media showed a marked police car blocking the road near a zebra crossing, with an officer guarding the cordon further up the road. West Midlands Police has been approached for comment regarding the incident.
