A Birmingham mother has been left 'traumatised' and 'terrified' after a suspected thief wearing a skull mask attempted to break into her Small Heath home using a chisel. The mother, who wished to remain anonymous, told BirminghamLive: "This has left me traumatised. I feel helpless." She added: "I'm terrified to bring my eight-year-old son home as I feel it's no longer safe for him to be there."
The attempted break-in has left the mother constantly looking over her shoulder and feeling unsafe in her own property. The incident has heightened her anxiety, especially as a single parent responsible for her young son's safety.
Second target in nine months
This is not the first time the family has been targeted. The property was previously targeted just nine months ago, raising concerns about whether the family is being specifically singled out. The mother expressed frustration that despite previous incidents, she still feels vulnerable and unprotected.
