A murder investigation has been launched after a man was fatally stabbed in Sparkbrook, Birmingham, on the evening of June 4. The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene on Walford Road at around 7pm.
Emergency Services Respond
Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, were called to the area at approximately 6.20pm following reports of an attack. Video footage shared online showed multiple emergency vehicles and a large police presence as crowds of residents gathered nearby.
Offender Still at Large
As of 8.30pm, no arrests had been made, and the offender remains at large. A police cordon has been established, and officers are working to recover CCTV footage and speak to witnesses.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We’ve launched a murder investigation after a man was stabbed to death in Birmingham this evening. We were called to Walford Road in Sparkbrook at around 6.20pm after a man, believed to be in his 40s, had been attacked. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at around 7pm. No arrests have yet been made, and our officers remain at the scene this evening as we recover CCTV and speak to witnesses.”
Appeal for Information
Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV, mobile phone footage, or dashcam recordings from the area at the time of the incident to come forward. Witnesses can contact West Midlands Police on 101, quoting log number 4881 of 4 June.
