A murder investigation has been launched in Burntwood after a man died following a reported fight. Emergency services were called to a private address on Hazel Grove at around 9am on Tuesday, 5 May, following reports of two men fighting.
Man pronounced dead at scene
Upon arrival, police and paramedics discovered a man with serious injuries. Despite immediate efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead just after 10am at the scene. A dog was also found inside the house with suspected stab wounds and has been taken to a vet for treatment.
Three arrests made
Staffordshire Police have arrested three individuals on suspicion of murder. They are two men, aged 32 and 27, and a woman, aged 33. All three are in custody awaiting questioning.
Detectives have cordoned off the scene and launched an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the man's death. A public portal has been set up for anyone with information to contact the police.
West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they sent one ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic, and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Despite best efforts, the man could not be saved.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
