Police have launched an investigation into a two-car crash in Tamworth that left a Nissan driver with serious injuries. The collision occurred on Thursday, July 30, at approximately 1.35pm at the junction of Pennine Way and Eringden.
What happened in the crash?
The incident involved a silver Nissan Juke and a white Ford van. The Nissan driver, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The Ford van driver, also a man, sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
Staffordshire Police were called to the scene, with officers attending alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Police appeal for information
Today, Staffordshire Police issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. A force spokesperson said: "We're appealing for information following a serious collision in Tamworth. We were called at 1.35pm on Thursday, July 30, to Pennine Way, at the junction of Eringden, following reports of a collision involving a silver Nissan Juke and a white Ford van."
The spokesperson added: "Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Midlands Air Ambulance. The driver of the Nissan, a man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford van, a man, suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment."

The road was closed for some time following the incident while emergency services worked at the scene. The extent of the Nissan driver's injuries has not been disclosed, but they were described as serious.
