Police have issued a public appeal for information after a shop worker was assaulted with a spanner during a theft in the West Midlands.
Incident Details in Darlaston
The incident occurred at a shop on Peacock Road in Darlaston, Walsall. According to West Midlands Police (WMP), the location was targeted by thieves on two separate occasions: October 7 and October 13, 2025.
During one of these incidents, a member of shop staff was struck with a spanner by the perpetrators. Authorities have confirmed that, fortunately, the worker did not sustain serious injuries.
Police Release Images of Persons of Interest
In connection with the attacks, detectives have released CCTV images of two people they are eager to identify and speak to. A spokesperson for WMP stated: "We want to speak to this pair after a shop was targeted by thieves twice in Darlaston."
The spokesperson acknowledged the image quality but expressed confidence that members of the public may still recognise the individuals. "We appreciate these are not the clearest images but we believe there will be people who have information which will assist our enquiries," they added.
