Police Cordon Outside Library of Birmingham

Police have sealed off a large area outside Birmingham's main library in the city centre. An extensive police cordon is currently in place outside the Library of Birmingham in Centenary Square, near the Repertory Theatre.

Scene Details

Footage from BirminghamLive shows three police vehicles at the scene with their sirens on. A lorry was spotted in the middle of the cordon, which stretches from the fountain area towards The Hall of Memory. Officers were pictured at the edge of the cordon, and the library still appeared to be open.

Our reporter at the scene, Jamie Brassington, said: "It looks like there's an artic within the cordon. There are police vehicles with their sirens on. And there's a couple of officers."
