Police Hunt Dog Walker After Jogger Bitten by Jack Russell

Police are searching for a dog walker after a female jogger suffered serious leg injuries when she was bitten by a Jack Russell-type dog in Redditch.

Incident Details

The attack occurred at approximately 8:50 AM on Friday, May 8, on a footpath connecting Walkwood Road and Avonbank Close in the Walkwood area of Redditch. The victim was running when she passed a man who had the dog on a lead. The dog then bit her leg, causing significant injuries.

Suspect Description

West Mercia Police have described the suspect as a white male in his 70s, of medium build, with grey hair, and wearing a brown top. He left the scene with the dog after the incident.

Police Appeal

In a statement, the force said: “We are appealing for information after a woman was bitten by a dog in Redditch on Friday, May 8. At around 8.50am, the victim was running along the footpath between Walkwood Road and Avonbank Close when she passed a man with a Jack Russell-type dog on a lead. The dog bit the woman on the leg, causing serious injuries.”
