Police hunt Fitim Lleshi over fatal Hall Green crash

West Midlands Police have launched a public appeal to trace a 45-year-old Birmingham man wanted in connection with a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian in Hall Green. Fitim Lleshi is suspected of causing death by dangerous driving after a 68-year-old man was struck by a dark-coloured vehicle on Stratford Road on Thursday, September 3.

The pedestrian was walking near Aldi at around 8.45pm when he was hit. Despite the efforts of medics from West Midlands Ambulance Service, the man could not be saved and died at the scene.

Police release image of wanted man

Officers have now released a name and photograph of Lleshi, who is described as white, balding and pictured with stubble. He is from Birmingham and is wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Stratford Road was closed for a period on Friday, September 4, while police investigations were carried out. The road has since reopened, but the investigation remains ongoing.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “The 45-year-old from Birmingham is wanted on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.”

“A 68-year-old man sadly died after being hit by a vehicle on Stratford Road, Hall Green at around 8.45pm on 3 September.”
