West Midlands Police have released CCTV images of two suspects on a motorbike following a firearms incident in Great Barr, Birmingham. The shots were fired on Old Walsall Road, near the junction with Rocky Lane, at approximately 5.50pm on Sunday, August 2. Armed officers were deployed to the scene, and a cordon was put in place, closing off Rocky Lane and parts of Old Walsall Road.
Police Appeal for Information
The force is now appealing for the public's help to trace the two individuals and the motorcycle they were riding. The CCTV images show a white and black motorbike with a rider and a pillion passenger, both dressed entirely in black with their heads covered.
In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "We're appealing for the public's help following an incident in Perry Barr where shots were fired. It happened at just after 5.50pm on Sunday night (August 2) in Old Walsall Road, Perry Barr, and no-one was injured. Detectives are investigating and are seeking information to identify those involved, along with the motorcycle they fled on. We believe the vehicle had its registration plate removed, and we're keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or has information which could help our enquiries."
Investigation Led by Bournville CID
Detective Sergeant Richard Forrester, from Bournville CID, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are looking to identify the two suspects and the motorbike which they were riding on. If anyone knows the location of the vehicle and where it is being stored please get in touch. We would also appeal for anyone who may have any dash cam footage of the vehicle in Rocky Lane area between 5.45pm and 6.15pm to contact us."
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The police have not confirmed whether the shots caused any property damage.
