Police probe sexual assault near Bermuda Leisure Park

Warwickshire Police have launched an investigation following the sexual assault of a young man near Bermuda Leisure Park in Nuneaton in the early hours of this morning.

Attack near bridge over A444

The incident occurred at approximately 1am on August 5, close to the bridge over the A444 leading onto Coventry Road. Officers confirmed the victim was approached by three men, all reportedly dressed in black clothing.

Detectives have confirmed that the man was subsequently sexually assaulted. Griff Road has remained closed throughout the day as enquiries continue.

Police appeal for information

Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact Warwickshire Police by calling 101 or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously, according to Coventry Live.

Inspector Ryan Walker, from Warwickshire Police, said: "We know our residents will be concerned by this attack, and the victim is being supported by specialist officers. Within minutes of this attack first being reported, an urgent investigation was launched, with a cordon in place today."

Increased police presence

Inspector Walker added: "Our neighbourhood officers will be out and about in the area. Please come talk to them if you have any concerns."

He urged anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the attack or has information to call 101 or visit www.warwickshire.police.uk/ro/report/ quoting incident number 53 of August 5.

Community reassurance

The attack has prompted concern among local residents, and police are working to reassure the community. The victim is being supported by specialist officers, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities are reviewing CCTV and conducting door-to-door enquiries in the area. They are particularly interested in any dashcam footage or mobile phone footage that may have captured the incident or the suspects.

Police have not yet released a description of the suspects beyond their clothing, but they are described as three men wearing all black. Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area around the time of the attack is asked to come forward.

The cordon on Griff Road is expected to remain in place for some time as forensic teams continue their work. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
