Police seek black estate car after fatal Cannock crash

Police are appealing for the driver of a black estate car to come forward after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Cannock. The collision happened at the junction of Walsall Road and Green Lane in Bridgtown on Wednesday, August 12, at approximately 8.30pm.

Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to the scene following reports that a car and a motorbike had collided near Virage Park. The motorcyclist, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, despite the efforts of an air ambulance crew who had been dispatched to the area.

Investigation and witness appeal

The driver of the car involved in the crash, a black Citroen C3, remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their inquiries. However, police are keen to trace the driver of a black estate car who may have witnessed the collision.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: "We are appealing for information after a motorcyclist sadly died following a collision in the Cannock area. We were called at 8.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, August 12) to the Walsall Road junction of Green Lane in Bridgtown following reports of a collision. A motorbike and a car were involved in the collision near to Virage Park."

Emergency response and family support

The spokesperson added: "Officers attended along with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Midlands Air Ambulance. Sadly, the motorcyclist, a man, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time."

West Midlands Ambulance Service also issued a statement, confirming the severity of the incident. A spokesperson said: "On arrival, crews found a man, the motorcyclist, in a critical condition and immediately began administering advanced life support. Sadly, despite best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
