West Midlands Police have launched a critical appeal to locate the family of a man who was left with life-threatening injuries after a serious assault in Birmingham. The incident occurred at a property on Tew Park Road in Handsworth, where officers were called at approximately 2pm on Friday, April 17.
Urgent Search for Relatives
The victim, identified as 60-year-old Mark Patrick Regan, was found with critical injuries and rushed to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. Police have confirmed that Mr. Regan has connections to the Black Country region, including areas in Handsworth, Aldridge, Pelsall, and Wolverhampton.
Arrest Made in Connection
A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent in relation to the attack. He is currently remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday. Authorities believe the suspect is known to Mr. Regan, but despite extensive efforts, they have been unable to contact any of his relatives.
Detective Inspector Racheal Allen from the Major Crime Unit emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "This was a really serious attack, and it's crucial that we speak to any family of Mr. Regan as soon as possible. Our investigation is ongoing, but we believe this to be an isolated incident at this stage."
