Popeyes, the popular fast-food chain, has submitted an application to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to extend its operating hours at the Merry Hill Retail Park in Brierley Hill, potentially allowing the restaurant to remain open until 5am.
If approved, the new hours would see the outlet serve customers from 11pm to 5am, extending its current schedule of 10.30am to 11pm, seven days a week. The application was lodged by PLK Chicken UK Limited and is now open for public consultation.
Public consultation and submission details
Written representations from responsible authorities or interested parties must be sent to the Director of Development & Regulation, Housing & Assets, Licensing, Dudley MBC, Lister Road Depot, Dudley, DY2 8JW by August 17. The full application can be viewed on the Public Notice Portal.
The Merry Hill location first opened its doors on June 5, marking what the brand described as its 'biggest regional investment of the year'. The restaurant offers diners its signature 'Shatter Crunch' chicken along with fan favourites such as the Popeyes chicken sandwich, wings, tenders, and signature chicken wraps.
Menu highlights and new additions
The menu is completed with classic sides like Southern Biscuits and Cajun gravy. Guests can also enjoy Popeyes' latest additions, including the bold Honey BBQ range, which brings a smoky-sweet twist to its Louisiana roots.

Employment and facilities
The opening created 50 new jobs. The restaurant features dine-in seating, self-service kiosks, and collection points for online orders placed via the website or app.
