West Midlands Police have seized a samurai sword in Wolverhampton after officers spotted a group of men acting suspiciously. The suspect had concealed the menacing blade in his waistband.

Officers from the scene released a photograph of the sword, which appeared to be blue and silver in colour. The weapon was held by an officer and seemed as long as his torso.

The force confirmed that an arrest was made following the incident. Officers approached a group of males seen acting suspiciously and detained three of them. One suspect was found carrying the sword.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the officer holding the sword was pictured on a residential street with a police car in the background. Project Guardian posted: 'Wednesfield GTF deployed to Wolverhampton have noticed a group of males acting suspiciously. Three detained with one having a samurai sword in his waistband. One under arrest and a trip to custody.'
