Detectives have launched a hate crime investigation following an incident near a McDonald's restaurant in Selly Oak, Birmingham. A man reported being subjected to verbal abuse on Aston Webb Boulevard at around 12:15 PM on Thursday, May 28.
West Midlands Police is treating the incident as a 'hate crime offence' and has released a grainy CCTV image of a man they are eager to identify. The suspect is described as having balding grey hair and appeared to be using a phone at the time of the incident.
A police spokesperson said: 'Do you recognise this man? We want to speak to him after a man was verbally abused in what we're treating as a hate crime offence on Aston Webb Boulevard in Selly Oak. It happened on 28 May at around 12:15 PM. If you know him, please call 101 quoting 20/174926/26.'
