British Transport Police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred at Birmingham New Street station on Sunday, May 17, at around 1pm. The incident took place at the Wasabi sushi restaurant, located near the main concourse and passenger information boards.
Details of the Attack
The victim, a woman, had her path blocked by a man who attempted to engage her in conversation before sexually assaulting her. Several customers witnessed the incident and intervened, challenging the man. A suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of sexual assault and has since been released on bail while inquiries continue.
Appeal for Witnesses
British Transport Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. The suspect is described as a white male with a tanned complexion, aged around 30, with a buzzcut and light-coloured eyes. He was wearing black clothing, including a black bomber jacket.
