Solihull Man Charged After Police Pursuit in Birmingham

A 35-year-old man from Solihull has been charged with multiple offences following a police pursuit through Birmingham. Michael Gaffey, of Wentworth Road, Solihull, was arrested in Yardley and now faces a series of serious charges.

Charges Filed

Gaffey has been charged with two counts of wounding, dangerous driving, possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, production of Class B drugs, possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, and assaulting a police officer.

The charges stem from a police operation that took place on Sunday morning, 10 May, across Birmingham. The pursuit ended with Gaffey's arrest in Yardley.

The 35-year-old has been remanded in custody and appeared before Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday, 11 May. Further proceedings are expected.
