Police presence at the scene

Our reporter at the scene has confirmed that two police cars and a police van are stationed at the College Road end of the cordon, which marks the start of the shops at New Oscott and the area known as Beggars Bush, named after the local pub.

The nature of the incident has not yet been disclosed, and West Midlands Police has been contacted for further details.

Ongoing investigation

The cordons are expected to remain in place for some time as officers conduct their investigation.

Residents and commuters are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
