A robbery victim was chased and slashed as he was targeted by up to seven youths at a Sutton Coldfield beauty spot. The man, aged in his 50s, was injured when the young males stole his electric bike in Sutton Park on Saturday afternoon, May 30.
It is understood he was chased from the Jubilee area down towards Miller and Carter, before being set upon by six or seven youths wearing balaclavas. Police were alerted to the robbery just before 4:30 PM.
Investigation Underway
An investigation has since been launched, and anyone with information is urged to contact West Midlands Police. A friend of the victim stated: 'Good friend of mine had this bike stolen from him and had his arm slashed in Sutton Park yesterday. Any info or if anyone is offered this bike please get in touch with me.' The friend added: 'Fisher down by Miller and Carter. They chased him from the Jubilee down towards Miller and Carter. Six or seven in total on one bloke. Said it was six or seven lads with them stupid balaclava things on.'
Police confirmed the man suffered a minor injury to his arm during the incident. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: 'We were called following a robbery in Sutton Park on 30 May just before 4:30 PM. An electric bike was stolen from a man in his 50s. He also received a minor injury to his arm during the robbery. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting 20/267588/26.'
