Collision at Willenhall Road and Deans Road

A taxi and a police car responding to an emergency call collided at the junction of Willenhall Road and Deans Road in Wolverhampton on Friday evening, June 26. The marked police car was struck at the junction near the Cleveland Arms shortly before 6pm.

Firefighters Free Man from Vehicle

Firefighters freed a man from one of the vehicles using a stretcher, while two people from the other vehicle had already gotten out before crews arrived. A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "This was a collision between two cars. Two people freed themselves from one vehicle before we arrived at the scene, and one man was freed from the other vehicle by firefighters using a stretcher. Both vehicles were made safe by firefighters."

No Injuries Reported

Medics were pictured at the scene, but there were no injuries. The incident was left in the care of police colleagues, and both fire appliances had left the scene by 7pm. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A taxi was involved in a collision with a police car at the junction of Willenhall Road and Deans Road shortly before 6pm on Friday. The police car was struck while responding to an emergency call but no-one was reported injured."

Police are appealing for anyone with more information or who witnessed the collision to call 101 quoting log 4881 of 26 June.
