Teenage Girl Dies in Kent Car Crash; Two Others Injured

A tragic road traffic collision in Kent has claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl who was driving a car that struck a tree. The incident occurred on Headcorn Road in Staplehurst on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Details of the Crash

Police reported that the blue Seat Ibiza Xcellence was traveling from Headcorn towards Staplehurst when it left the road at the junction with Sweetlands Lane and collided with a tree. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly before 8.30pm.

The young driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been notified.

Injuries to Passengers

Two other occupants were also injured. A 19-year-old man was transported to a London hospital in a life-threatening condition, while a 17-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses, CCTV, and dashcam footage.
