Two Teenagers Arrested After Machete and Drugs Found in Birmingham

Two teenagers were arrested in Birmingham after police officers discovered a machete and a quantity of suspected drugs during a stop and search operation. The incident occurred on Sutton New Road, near Erdington High Street, on Wednesday, April 7.

Officer Assaulted During Search

During the search, one of the teenagers assaulted a police officer. The injuries sustained by the officer were not believed to be serious. In addition to the machete, officers seized suspected Class A and B drugs, along with several items linked to drug dealing.

Arrests and Charges

The two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested at the scene. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with possession of a blade and assaulting an emergency worker. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
