Teens arrested in Stratford-upon-Avon with weapons and drugs

Two teenagers have been arrested in the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon following alarming reports of individuals seen with knives and machetes.

Weapons and Drugs Seized in Town Centre Arrests

Warwickshire Police detained a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old on Tuesday, 13 January. The arrests were made on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of drugs. Officers recovered weapons at the scene.

During the search, one of the teenagers was found to be in possession of more than 200 wraps of suspected Class A drugs, highlighting the serious nature of the incident.

A Busy Week for County Lines Crackdown

These arrests formed part of a significant week of action for Warwickshire Police targeting drug supply networks. Just one day earlier, on Monday 12 January, officers stopped a vehicle on the M69 motorway believed to be linked to drug dealing.

A search revealed cocaine hidden within the vehicle's centre console. Subsequent operations at a storage unit and a home address led to the discovery of further evidence, including:

  • More cocaine in brick form.
  • Ready-bagged deals prepared for street sale.
  • A substantial quantity of cash.

In total, police estimated they seized £150,000-worth of drugs and £80,000 in cash from potential criminals during these linked operations.

The incidents in Stratford-upon-Avon and on the motorway network underscore the ongoing efforts to combat county lines and violent crime in the region. Police are urging the public to come forward with any information.
