A third man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing in Birmingham city centre that left a teenager with potentially life-changing injuries.
Hashratullah Nabizada, 24, of no fixed address, was arrested by West Midlands Police on Friday evening and charged on Saturday morning. He has been remanded into custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Birmingham on Monday, 3 August.
Incident in Victoria Square
The charges relate to an attack in Victoria Square on the evening of 23 June. An 18-year-old man was stabbed and suffered injuries that police later described as potentially life-changing. A 17-year-old boy was also assaulted during the same incident and sustained facial injuries.
The Major Crime Unit has been investigating the case since it was reported. The investigation is being treated as a high-priority incident given the severity of the injuries. The incident occurred in the summer months, and detectives have been working to establish the full circumstances.
Police statement on third charge
On Saturday, police confirmed the third charge in a statement. A force spokesperson said: "We've charged another man with attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed in Birmingham's Victoria Square in June."

Nabizada is now the third person to face an attempted murder charge in connection with the same incident. The police have not yet said whether any further arrests are likely. The announcement comes after weeks of inquiries by the Major Crime Unit.
Two other men already charged
Two other men have previously been charged in relation to the attack. They are:
- Obaidullah Mamozai, 28, from Telford in Shropshire, charged with attempted murder and assault. He was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Birmingham Crown Court on 6 August.
- Niazal Rahmanullah, 25, of Alcester Street, charged with attempted murder, wounding, possession of a knife, and violent disorder. He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court this month.
The charges include not only attempted murder but also additional offences such as wounding and possession of a knife, reflecting the alleged events.

Nabizada is set to appear before magistrates in Birmingham on Monday 3 August. In England and Wales, attempted murder is an indictable-only offence, meaning it must be handled at the Crown Court. Magistrates will decide on bail before committing the case to a higher court. Mamozai has a hearing scheduled for 6 August at Birmingham Crown Court, while Rahmanullah is expected to appear at the same court later in August.
