Detectives have arrested three men in connection with the murder of a man who was fatally stabbed on a driveway in Hodge Hill. The victim, a man in his 30s named locally as Zeeshan Shaukat, was attacked on Ashville Avenue at around 11.50pm on Tuesday, August 25. He died in hospital three days later, on Friday, August 28.
Arrests following Staffordshire vehicle stop
West Midlands Police confirmed that officers stopped a vehicle in Staffordshire last night, leading to the arrests. A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder, while two other men were detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in custody for questioning.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We've arrested three men following the death of another man who was stabbed in Birmingham. A man in his 30s died on Friday, August 28, three days after being found with serious injuries in Ashville Avenue, Hodge Hill."
Ongoing investigation and police appeal
The spokesperson added: "We started a murder investigation and officers last night acted on information and stopped a vehicle in the Staffordshire area. A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder and two others for assisting an offender. They are currently in custody for questioning. Our enquiries into the stabbing at around 11.50pm last Tuesday remain ongoing."
