Three people have been arrested after a car fleeing from police crashed into a lorry on Trinity Road near Villa Park in the early hours of this morning. The police were initially called to Trinity Road in Aston at approximately 1:20 AM today after receiving reports of a group of men possibly in possession of a firearm. Officers later spotted a vehicle matching the description in the vicinity at 1:53 AM. The car failed to stop when signaled by police and subsequently collided with a lorry at 1:54 AM at the junction of Trinity Road and Witton Lane, close to the iconic Villa Park stadium.
Following the crash, three male occupants of the car were detained by officers at the scene. All three were transported to hospital for medical treatment due to injuries sustained in the impact. The driver of the lorry involved in the collision fortunately escaped without any injuries.

The first patient was transported under emergency conditions to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, while the other two were taken to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital for treatment of potentially serious injuries.
