Three teenagers have been arrested after a shooting in a Birmingham street, with police recovering machetes, drugs, and bullets. The arrests follow a disorder in Metchley Drive, Harborne, where officers were called shortly after 5.30pm on August 12.
West Midlands Police responded to reports of a gun being fired, but those involved had fled by the time officers arrived. However, quick-time enquiries led to the detention of three teenagers in Bantock Way, and subsequent searches recovered bags containing machetes and drugs.
Arrests and Recovered Items
Two boys, aged 15 and 17, and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, having drugs with intent to supply, and possessing a knife. They all remain in custody for questioning.
Detectives also seized two bullets and a casing from Metchley Drive as part of the ongoing investigation. The recovered items have been submitted for forensic examination.

No one has reported being injured in the incident, but West Midlands Police has increased patrols in the area to reassure the community. A force spokesperson said: "We've arrested three teenagers and recovered machetes and drugs after we responded to reports of a gun being fired in Birmingham."
The spokesperson added: "We were alerted to disorder in Metchley Drive, Harborne, at just after 5.30pm yesterday (12 August). Officers quickly descended on the area but those involved had fled. However, following quick-time enquiries we detained three teenagers in Bantock Way. We found bags with machetes and drugs and subsequent enquiries have led to two bullets and a casing being recovered in Metchley Drive."
Ongoing Investigation and Appeal
