The British Transport Police have confirmed the tragic death of a 16-year-old girl who was found injured on railway tracks earlier this week.
A Life Cut Short
Daisy House was discovered at Loughton Underground station shortly after 2.30pm on Monday, 15 December. Emergency services, including paramedics, rushed to the scene and provided immediate treatment before she was transported to hospital.
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Daisy sadly succumbed to her injuries. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, where she was known as a promising student who had just begun her Sixth Form studies.
Family's Heartbreaking Tribute
Daisy's devastated family have released a moving statement, remembering their daughter as a 'bright, beautiful, clever, and funny girl'. They emphasised that she had her whole future ahead of her.
In their tribute, they expressed profound gratitude to the emergency services who fought to save her life. 'We would like to thank all of the emergency services and doctors who worked so hard to save her,' the family said, 'especially the British Transport Police officer and paediatric nurses who treated us all with such kindness.'
The family also acknowledged the support from the community in the form of messages and floral tributes, before requesting privacy to grieve their immense loss.
Police Investigation and Appeal
A spokesperson for British Transport Police reiterated the sequence of events, confirming officers were called to the station following reports of a casualty on the tracks. The force has released a photograph of Daisy provided by her family alongside their appeal for the public to respect the family's privacy during this devastating time.
The investigation into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing, though the police have not indicated any suspicious circumstances at this stage. The tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with railway infrastructure.
