Two arrested after Broad Street attack leaves man injured

Two men, aged 37 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man in his 50s was left with serious injuries following an attack on Birmingham's Broad Street in the early hours of Wednesday, September 2.

Police were called to the scene at around 3.30am, where the victim was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Officers cordoned off the area to allow forensic examinations to take place.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: "Two men have been arrested after a man was seriously injured in an assault on Birmingham's Broad Street today. We were called at around 3.30am, and the man in his 50s, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital with serious injuries."

The statement continued: "Two men were detained on suspicion of assault. The men, aged 37 and 45, remain in custody as enquiries continue. A cordon remains in Broad Street as forensic examinations are carried out. CCTV is also being reviewed as we work to establish exactly what happened."
