Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred near a children's play area in Northfield, Birmingham. The incident took place on Gorsymead Grove shortly before 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 28.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both arrests were made at an address in Nottingham.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: 'We have arrested two people in connection with a shooting in Northfield. Armed officers were called to Gorsymead Grove after reports of a gun being fired just before 4:30 PM on Thursday.'
Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash-cam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward. Officers have increased patrols in Northfield to reassure the local community. Anyone with information is urged to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
