Two Arrested in Birmingham Carjacking After Man Attacked in Rubery
A 17-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man from Birmingham have been arrested on suspicion of robbery following a violent carjacking incident that occurred just over the city border in Rubery. The attack took place shortly after midnight on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, when two individuals entered a Toyota car and assaulted the owner, resulting in facial injuries before fleeing in the vehicle.

West Midlands Police were alerted to the robbery and collaborated with colleagues from the West Mercia force to track the stolen car. Officers from the Road Crime Team located the vehicle in the Yardley Wood area of Birmingham and stopped it on Moseley Road at approximately 1 a.m. During the operation, a knife and stolen property were discovered, leading to the arrests of the two suspects.
