A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a violent incident in the Black Country last month, according to West Midlands Police. The arrest follows a shooting on Bearwood Road in Smethwick that left a 19-year-old man with a serious leg injury.

The shooting occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on March 11, when police were called to Bearwood Road after reports of a disturbance. The victim, a 19-year-old male, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and required hospital treatment. In a significant development, a second suspect was detained yesterday, Thursday, April 16, in the Cradley Heath area.
The 23-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, while a 20-year-old man was also taken into custody on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply. Both individuals remain in police custody as of today, Friday, April 17.
Previous Charges and Victim's Status
This is not the first arrest related to this case. A 21-year-old man was previously charged with attempted murder and is currently remanded in custody. Interestingly, the 19-year-old shooting victim was also arrested on suspicion of violent disorder in connection with the incident.
