Two Charged Over Smethwick Stabbing Disorder

West Midlands Police have charged two additional individuals following a violent disorder in Smethwick that resulted in two men being stabbed. Nizar Abdulhafeez, 19, and Diandre Cunningham, 18, both from Birmingham, face two counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

Incident Details

The disorder occurred on Foundry Lane on May 26, leading to two men being hospitalized with stab wounds. Police have now charged a total of five men and two teenagers in connection with the incident.

Court Appearance

Abdulhafeez and Cunningham were due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court on June 6. The force continues its investigations and has urged the public not to share footage of the incident that is circulating online.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Two more men have been charged as we continue to investigate a disorder in Smethwick last month. Nizar Abdulhafeez, aged 19, and Diandre Cunningham, aged 18, are both charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article. The pair, both from Birmingham, are due at the city’s magistrates court today (6 June)."
