Two Children Stabbed in Heswall Bus Station Brawl

Two teenage boys were stabbed during a large brawl involving dozens of teenagers at Heswall Bus Station in Merseyside on Saturday evening. Merseyside Police confirmed that the victims, both aged between 15 and 17, sustained wounds believed to have been caused by a bladed weapon. One suffered a chest injury and the other a finger wound; both were taken to hospital for treatment, with injuries described as not life-threatening.

Details of the Incident

Emergency services were called to Heswall Bus Station on Telegraph Road at approximately 6:35pm on July 4 after reports of a stabbing. Officers arrived to find a chaotic scene, with a large crowd of teenagers involved in a fight. Several teenage boys were arrested and remain in custody for questioning. The bus station was cordoned off, with multiple police vehicles present as forensic teams conducted examinations.

Witness Account

A witness sitting outside the Jonny Pye pub on Pye Road told the Liverpool ECHO that he saw a "large group of kids" get off buses and immediately begin fighting. He said: "I believe they're two groups, one from Neston and one from Liverpool. This was the meeting spot in the middle and then they have just attacked each other. There were a good few of them fighting and then they just ran off."

Police Investigation

Detective Inspector Steve Wilkinson of Merseyside Police stated: "We understand the concern that such an incident will cause, especially given the ages of those involved and the busy area in which this occurred. The possession of bladed weapons can and does cause devastation in our communities so despite these arrests, we will be relentlessly pursuing all of those we suspect of having an involvement." He added that those who associate with weapon carriers are putting themselves in danger and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Police are conducting witness interviews, reviewing CCTV footage, and carrying out forensic analysis in the area. They are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or saw individuals running away to contact them. Additionally, they encourage people to check devices for images or footage that may assist the investigation.
