Two Men Face Attempted Murder Charges Following Sutton Coldfield Shooting

Two men have been formally charged with four counts of attempted murder each following a violent shooting incident in Sutton Coldfield that left a young man fighting for his life and a woman injured.

Details of the Mount View Shooting

The incident occurred in Mount View, located off Reddicap Hill in the Reddicap Heath area of Sutton Coldfield, on Saturday, January 31. The shooting took place shortly before 11:30 PM that evening, according to police reports.

A man in his 20s sustained critical injuries during the attack and required advanced trauma care from paramedics with the West Midlands Ambulance Service. He was transported to hospital under emergency conditions for further treatment. Approaching four weeks after the shooting, the victim remains in a critically ill condition.

A woman was also injured during the incident, although her injuries were described as minor by authorities.

Charges and Arrests

West Midlands Police have charged two individuals in connection with the shooting:

  • Tyrese Henry, 21, of Javelin Avenue in Castle Vale, Birmingham
  • Mikey Large, 19, of Padgate Close, also in Castle Vale, Birmingham

Both men were arrested on Wednesday, February 25, and formally charged the following day. They have been remanded in custody and were scheduled to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, February 27.

In addition to the attempted murder charges, the men are also accused of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Ongoing Police Investigation

Police investigations into the shooting continue, with officers actively seeking additional information from the public. Authorities are particularly interested in any images, videos, or details that could assist their inquiry.

West Midlands Police stated: "Our investigation continues and we're still appealing for people to send any information, pictures or video which could help to our dedicated Public Portal webpage."

The force confirmed they are hunting a group of men on electric bikes who are believed to have been involved in the Mount View shooting.
